How can I order?

Place your order online on our website.
Browse our range of products; select your products and then follow the checkout instructions, and our courier will deliver it straight to your door. Read more about our delivery service.

When can I expect my delivery?

We deliver every Thursday between 9am – 5pm once you have placed your order the previous Friday by 6pm. Unfortunately we cannot specify an exact time for delivery. It is therefore essential that, when placing your order, you provide us with two contact telephone numbers as well as instructions for the courier in case you happen to be out when your goods are delivered.

How much is delivery?

Nationwide delivery costs €15.

Do you deliver to my area?

Our reliable delivery partners Fastway, deliver our products nationwide every Thursday (once you have placed your order the previous Friday by 6pm).

Do you stock Gluten Free products?

All our meats are gluten free except for our handmade sausages and burgers. However we also produce gluten free sausages and burgers if requested at an additional charge. Gluten free options are also included in our bundles and included in the price.

What way will my order be delivered?

Once you’ve placed your order, you will receive a confirmation email from us. Orders can be delivered to your door every Thursday once you have placed your order by 6pm the previous Friday.

Your order is in safe hands with our reliable delivery partners Fastway, who make sure that your order reaches you promptly. Once your order has been collected from our premises by Fastway, you will receive a text from them declaring a time for delivery on Thursday. You must make sure to be at the address you gave.

What payment methods are accepted?

Visa, Mastercard and credit/ debit cards are accepted.

What if I miss my delivery?

Don’t Panic! It’s not the end of the world if you’re not at home for the courier! We have your contact details and should you require, we can leave your package with a neighbour. We can also deliver your package to your workplace should you specify this at the time of ordering. Our packaging allow for our products to remain frozen for up to 24hrs, and so will keep your products frozen until you can get to storing them in a fridge/ freezer.

How do I know what time my delivery will arrive?

Once your order has been collected from our premises by Fastway, you will receive a text from them declaring a time for delivery on Thursday (once you have placed your order the previous Friday by 6pm). You must make sure to be at the address you gave.

What time is order cut off for Thursday delivery?

All orders must be in by 6pm on Friday to arrive at your door the following Thursday once you have placed your order the previous Friday by 6pm. This also applies for our Click and Collect service every Friday.

Is your premises open on Sundays?

We are closed on Sundays.

Do you have stock?

Yes, with our local supply chains and strong supplier links, we have ample stock of Beef, Lamb, Pork and Bacon available to our customers.

How can I get a Healy Family Meats order as a local customer?

Use Click and Collect – Shop online or phone in your order on 087 0526420 and collect it from the dedicated, queue-managed Click & Collect point at our premises between 2PM - 5PM every Friday. There is no charge for the service and no minimum order.

Or use our Delivery Service with a delivery cost of €15. Simply choose your meat bundle, select a delivery slot, make your payment and await your delivery. We’ll do the rest. We’ll deliver your order directly to your door anywhere in the Republic of Ireland. Please ensure to give the address you will most likely be at on Thursday (once you have placed your order the previous Friday by 6pm) whether it is your home or workplace.

Can I order over phone?

Give our team a call on 087 0526420 and they’ll be happy to take your order over the phone. Our lines are open Monday to Friday, 10am to 5.30pm.

Will deliveries comply with social distancing?

Our national courier Fastway does not require a signature. When you place your order, you can enter instructions for the delivery driver about a safe place they can leave your package.

How are you ensuring the safety of your food handling?

We already have very rigorous hygiene processes and have implemented further infection control procedures within our premises.

How quick can you deliver?

For all online orders including Click & Collect, All orders must be in by 6pm on Friday to arrive at your door the following Thursday. And for Click and Collect option can be collected every Friday at a time you choose.

How can I get a Healy Family Meats order as a national customer?

Use our Delivery Service with a delivery cost of €15. Simply choose your meat bundle or add an offal product, select a delivery slot, make your payment and await your delivery. We’ll do the rest. We’ll deliver your order direct to your door anywhere in the Republic of Ireland. Please ensure to give the address you will most likely be at on Thursday (once you have placed your order the previous Friday by 6pm) whether it is your home or workplace.

Is it possible to place an order for an elderly relative or vulnerable person?

Yes. After entering your billing details at the Checkout, select Deliver to a Different Address.

Will you still deliver if I am in isolation?

Yes. When you place your order, please enter instructions for the delivery driver about a safe place they can leave your parcel to avoid contact.

Please make sure your order is correct as we are unable to amend it once the payment has been completed.

Yes. At the online checkout, select Click and Collect. Then choose when you what time on Friday you want to collect it, and complete payment. Our Click & Collect service is open every Friday between 2PM - 5PM. Once your order has been in by 6PM the previous Friday then you can collect it the following Friday. There is no charge for our Click and Collect service and no minimum order.

How do I order online?

Once you’re on the page for the product you want, just click on the ‘Add to Basket’ button to add it to your order. Once you’ve loaded up your basket with everything you want, click on the ‘Proceed to Checkout’ button at the top of your screen to check out. You’ll be able to review and change your order before paying and enter any promotional code you may have.

I didn’t get what I ordered. What do I do?

Tell us as soon as you can by phoning on 087 0526420 or by emailing us at info@healymeats.ie and we’ll make sure your correct order is delivered to you as soon as possible.

My delivery hasn’t arrived. What do I do?

We aim to deliver your order to you within 24 hours of dispatch from our premises. However, we use a third-party courier for our national deliveries and occasionally they may be delayed. As our insulated packaging will keep your order properly frozen for up to 72 hours in the winter and 48 hours in the summer from dispatch, a delay within these timeframes will not affect your order quality.With our Delivery services you can track where your order is. Delivery notifications via SMS and email are provided by our third-party carrier Fastway.

We’ll email you a link to your tracking information once your parcel has been shipped from our premises. You can also download Fastway’s Courier Tracking app for free from Google Play or Apple Store. If your order fails to arrive and it cannot be tracked please contact us on 087 0526420 or email us team@healymeats.ie

Do you have a Click and Collect service?

Gluten-free Products

Do you stock gluten-free products?

Yes. We offer a gluten-free range, with many of our most popular products such as pork sausages and beef burgers available in a gluten-free version. Look out for ‘gluten-free’ in the product name.

Is meat gluten-free?

Generally, yes. Fresh cuts of meat are naturally gluten-free, but processed or breaded meat products may include gluten. All our plain meat cuts are gluten-free. If you want to check if one of our meat products is gluten-free, please look at the list of ingredients or Allergen information.

What does 'gluten-free' mean?

Gluten is the general name for the proteins found in grains such as wheat, barley and rye. Under the law, only foods that contain 20 parts per million (ppm) or less of gluten can be labelled ‘gluten-free’.

What different ingredients do you use in your gluten-free products?

Instead of grains like wheat, we use alternatives such as rice flour and potato starch.

Do you take orders over the phone as well as online?

How do I use my gift card promotional code for my order?

Enter the full gift promotional code when prompted during the checkout process. Your order total will then automatically be adjusted to reflect your saving. If you have any problems with using your promotional code, call us on 087 0526420 or email us at team@healymeats.ie

What is 3D secure?

3D Secure is an extra layer of security. It requires customers to enter an additional password when they make an online purchase. It applies to Visa and MasterCard only. It is designed to ensure that the person placing an order online is the legitimate card holder rather than someone who may have stolen or cloned the card. For customers, after 3 failed authentication attempts, transactions will be cancelled and a hold will be placed on their card. In this case, customers will have to contact their bank. It protects Healy Family Meats from fraud-related chargebacks (when a cardholder denies they made the purchase).

Do you do gift vouchers?

Absolutely. We offer Online Vouchers. Online Vouchers can only be redeemed against an online order with us. Just select and buy the vouchers you want here on the website and we’ll either email them to you to give to whoever you want or, if you prefer, we can email them direct to your chosen person. With an Online Voucher, the lucky recipient can then redeem the voucher against an online order with us using the gift code included.

Packaging & Food Handling

Do you ship fresh or frozen?

We send you our meat frozen rather than fresh as we believe this maintains the best taste and quality of the product.

Our team of skilled butchers cut and vacuum pack, and blast freeze your order. Vacuum packing and freezing ensures that your meat is airtight and as fresh as when it was cut and ensures it will always arrive fully protected, keeping it in perfect condition until you are ready to enjoy it.
Our packaging will keep your meat frozen and below -18°C during the short transit time.

Once you receive your delivery, freeze the products immediately. Each product label is issued with a use-by date, be sure to follow these.

What packaging will my order come in?

Our team of skilled butchers cut and vacuum pack, and blast freeze your order. Vacuum packing and freezing ensures that your meat is airtight and as fresh as when it was cut and ensures it will always arrive fully protected, keeping it in perfect condition until you are ready to enjoy it.
We then pack your order carefully in a special insulating liner with food-safe gel coolants to keep everything nicely cold and put it in one of our strong corrugated boxes. This tried-and-tested packaging keeps your order properly chilled for up to 72 hours in the winter and 48 hours in the summer, making sure your order reaches you safely. Everything is kept good and cold throughout the journey, ready for you to unpack and store in the freezer or fridge or cook straightaway. Take a look at our packaging page for more details.

Can I reuse or recycle the packaging?

Our packaging can be almost completely recycled. The cardboard box, unlike more traditional polystyrene packaging commonly used for perishable goods, can easily be recycled in your household paper and cardboard recycling. You have to put the silver hygienic liner in general waste. The gel coolants can be reused or recycled. To recycle them, simply snip the corner of the gel coolant and pour the benign liquid down the sink then recycle the plastic along with the protective food bags, checking with your local council as plastic recycling varies in each location. Bag recycling facilities are also available in some supermarkets.

How do I know how long to keep my order in the fridge or freezer?

We include storage instructions on every item we send, setting out how long it can be stored in the fridge or freezer and enjoyed at its best. For more on freezing times and defrosting see our Freezing guidelines.

Will it keep my order cold?

Yes. The packaging we use is designed to keep the products properly frozen at under -18⁰ C for at least 72 hours in the winter and 48 hours in the summer – plenty of time for it to get to you. We just ask that if it’s being left in a safe place for you, please select somewhere in the shade.

Maturation

What is maturing meat and why do it?

Maturing meat, also known as hanging or ageing meat, is a way of making it more tender and more flavoursome. While a piece of very fresh beef would feel soft it would actually be much tougher to chew than a matured piece.

During the maturation process, enzymes get busy breaking down the muscle tissue in the meat, which makes it much more tender. At the same time, water from the meat is evaporating off, intensifying the flavour. After a long ageing process, the meat will have shrunk and the edges will have darkened, so longer dry-aged cuts will look different to those matured for a shorter amount of time.
